Occident funerary matters and craft productionThis book aims to follow, from Antiquity to the present day, the history, sometimes ironic, and the posthumous destiny of some pharaohs and queens. As in a portrait gallery, we find vaguely familiar names, illustrious unknowns and international celebrities: Khufu, Tutankhamun, Akhenaten, Nefertiti, Ramses, Cleopatra. In the background, the discourse serves as a metaphor for the versatility of posterity and celebrity and the irony of History: some very
