Spain, Franco Period. An Order Of The Cross Of St. Raymond Of Penafort, I Class Distinguished Cross, C.1950 Newly Listed Scarce items(Orden de la Cruz de San Raimundo de Peafort). Instituted 1944 by General Francisco Franco. 1944 present issue. An enameled white Maltese Cross with ball finials in silver gilt, featuring a split inscription S RAYMUNDUS PENNAFORTI (St. Raymond of Peafort) on the 12 oclock and 6 oclock arms respectively, presenting ornamented laces in a figure 8 pattern in each quadrant with a vertical sword suspension piercing the knee of the 12 oclock and 6 oclock
